Holi celebration under fear of coronavirus

I will not tell, from where novel coronavirus came and who is responsible for this. I am trying to tell my observation, feeling of the current scenario of the celebration of the Holi festival.

After four years, I was at home on the occasion of Holi (a Hindu festival). It was not planned travel due to coronavirus but I want to celebrate Holi with my whole family. This Holi was not the same as I used to play earlier. There was something missing in this Holi that was I used to enjoy.

I came to my home on 6th March 2020, I saw at the airport there was a slightly less crowd than usual and the crowd was taking more precautions like wearing the mask and using sanitizer. I was happy that people are taking precautions to save themself and others.

In India, Since the last week of February, there was a lot of chaos about the novel coronavirus. Every day, in news channels there was the only news about the spreading of coronavirus and the speed at which cases were increasing in other countries and our country.

Our prime minister and other major country leaders announced that they will not celebrate the Holi festival and advised the country people to avoid social gatherings. The impact of this advice was that I witnessed this Holi.

Festival means sharing of enjoy and happiness with each other

One day before Holi, In the night we performed a ritual of Holika Dahan, In Holika Dahan, people collect the dry wood, cow dung and collect at one place. In the night we light it up with fire. I went there and enjoy the whole process of Holika Dahan. It was peaceful to sit t near Holika Dahan.

On 10th March, I woke up early in the morning at 7 am, but I did not find old days of excitement. At my, there are two kids one is two years old and the other is six years old. Both were excited, they were ready with their pichkaries and water balloons.

They were calling me to help them in blowing the water balloon and filling the pichkaries. I was enjoying their company. I was giving water-filled balloons to them to throw on other people. I was enjoying my childhood with them.

As the sun was rising, a few movements started on the road. I was able to see a few bikes roaming on the road. Their body full of color and they were shouting “Happy Holi”.

In the afternoon, we all bother, sister, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law started playing with color and water. We started capturing each other and applying color on their face as well as pouring water on them.

We were looking like a ghost. It was difficult to recognize each other πŸ˜‚. We were chilling out and eating homemade sweets πŸ‘Œ. I was busy with Clicking pictures and creating videos for memories 😎.
